Wistron Medical’s AI-Powered BestShape Care SystemDemonstrates the Capacity of Contactless Smart CareProducts at Xiyue Postpartum Care Center

20, Mar, 2025

Wistron Medical’s technology team launched BestShape VS, an “AI-powered contactless newborn smart care product,” and has partnered with Xiyue Postpartum Care Center for six years. During this successful collaboration, including the COVID-19
pandemic and the Respiratory Syndrome Virus (RSV) outbreak, the AI technology, combined with professional nursing care, effectively prevented postpartum care centers from becoming hotspots for infectious diseases. To date, it has cared for over 8,500 newborns, earning high praise from parents and the industry.

The partner center, Xiyue Mingshui Branch, grandly opened on the 21st. In addition to continuing to use Wistron Medical’s AI-powered smart care system to assist in monitoring the baby’s physiological data, it has further implemented Wistron
Medical’s new product, BestShape Care “AI Contactless Active Living Detection System,” in the mother’s room. This system uses high-privacy, image-free, contactless detection technology to ensure the safety of mothers during their stay. This
innovative AI-powered smart care system not only improves the quality of baby care but also provides a safer and more reassuring accommodation environment for mothers and their families.

Traditional care typically relies on nurses manually measuring a baby’s physiological data 2-3 times a day. However, this method can make it difficult to detect abnormalities in the baby’s physiological data in a timely manner. Wistron Medical’s
BestShape VS system, on the other hand, continuously and actively monitors a baby’s breathing and heart rate 24 hours a day, measuring over 34,000 physiological data points daily. Combined with close collaboration with professional nursing staff at
Wistron Medical, it provides comprehensive, round-the-clock care.

Based on past experience, the BestShape VS system usually provides more frequent alerts for abnormal breathing 4 hours before a baby develops a fever, allowing
nurses to proactively monitor the baby’s condition. Furthermore, babies with conditions such as small for gestational age (SGA), ventricular septal defect (VSD), or ectopic diaphragm require special attention through this continuous physiological
data measurement device. While most newborn abnormalities can be detected through health checkups, a small number of cases are not diagnosed until about one week to one month after birth.

After years of collaboration with Xiyue, Wistron Medical has successfully assisted Xiyue in tracking nearly 100 newborns with special circumstances. Through precise monitoring of physiological data, combined with rounds by professional nurses and
pediatricians, potential health problems in babies are detected early, preventing acute and severe illnesses and providing parents with the most attentive and reassuring care environment.

In addition to providing high-quality care services for babies, Xiyue Mingshui Branch has further upgraded its safety measures for postpartum mothers. Within two weeks postpartum, mothers may experience discomfort due to incomplete recovery,
physical changes, or external factors. The timing of these situations is unpredictable. Therefore, Xiyue has also implemented Wistron Medical’s BestShape Care system. This system proactively detects bathroom activity in a highly private and contactless
manner without disturbing the mother’s rest, issuing immediate alerts for any abnormalities, creating a caring and safe postpartum care environment for both mother and baby.

This innovative collaboration not only enhances the quality of maternal and infant care but also fully demonstrates the unlimited potential of AI technology in the field of medical care. Wistron Medical is the first in Taiwan to introduce the “AI 3.0 High-
Tech Monitoring System—Smart AI Babysitter,” which can monitor a baby’s five key health indicators in real time, including heart rate, respiration, body temperature, images, and sounds. Combined with advanced AI image and sound recognition
technology, it can accurately grasp the baby’s condition every second, detecting any abnormalities immediately, such as spitting up, covering the mouth and nose, or even signs of illness, providing 24/7 comprehensive care for the baby’s health. In addition to allowing caregivers to provide the most immediate care, family members can also monitor the baby’s condition at any time through a dedicated app. Wistron Medical will continue to uphold its commitment to providing people-centered medical
technology and services, exerting social influence, and driving the development of the industry value chain through technology and services. In the future, it hopes to care for more people and create a better quality of life.
