Taiwan’s First Class II Medical Device Utilizing Millimeter-Wave Radar Achieves 96% Accuracy in Identifying Severe OSA
TAIPEI, Taiwan — Wistron MedTech hosted the “BestShape® VS Night AI Contactless Sleep Management System Launch and Sleep Health Expert Symposium” today (30th), officially introducing BestShape® VS Night to the Taiwan market. Combining millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar sensing with AI analysis, the system allows users to conduct sleep monitoring at home without wearing any devices and receive a comprehensive sleep analysis report the following morning. As Taiwan’s first Class II medical device certified mmWave radar sleep monitoring product, BestShape® VS Night has completed clinical validation, demonstrating a 96% accuracy rate in identifying severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and showcasing significant potential for home sleep monitoring applications.

Wistron MedTech gathered sleep medicine experts, clinicians, and industry representatives for cross-sector exchanges to jointly explore the clinical applications of home sleep monitoring and development opportunities for the sleep healthcare ecosystem.
Taiwan’s First Class II Medical Device Utilizing mmWave Radar Demonstrates Smart Healthcare Capabilities
According to the white paper “From Hospital to Home: Focusing on the New Era of OSA Sleep Care” published jointly by the Taiwan Society of Sleep Medicine and PwC, only about 10% of OSA patients in Taiwan are estimated to be diagnosed and treated. This highlights that a vast majority of potential patients have yet to enter the professional healthcare system, underscoring the vital importance of early sleep health awareness and seamless connection with professional medical care.
BestShape® VS Night utilizes mmWave radar technology combined with AI big data analytics to track sleep metrics and generate analytical reports completely non-invasively—without touching the body or disrupting the daily routines of the user or their bed partner. Users simply place the device bedside, point it toward their chest area during sleep, and connect it to power and Wi-Fi to begin monitoring. The next day, users can view their sleep data via computer or smartphone and track night-to-night trends over time, establishing a continuous and comparable home sleep database to serve as a reference for personal sleep management and subsequent medical consultations.
Qun-Ying Hsieh, General Manager of Wistron MedTech, stated: “Wistron MedTech is dedicated to becoming a leading brand in smart medical technology solutions. The official launch of BestShape® VS Night demonstrates our strength in translating innovative technology into clinical applications. By partnering with Sintong, a leader in Taiwan’s pharmaceutical industry, we combine our advantages in smart medical technology and healthcare resources. Through the Yung-Ding Sleep Center partner network, we plan to progressively roll out this product to hospitals and clinics across northern, central, and southern Taiwan, bringing innovative technology directly into healthcare settings and creating greater value for integrated sleep healthcare.”
Looking ahead, BestShape® VS Night is expected to collaborate with thoracic medicine, dentistry, psychiatry, and weight-loss clinics to explore opportunities for integrating home sleep monitoring with professional medical evaluations and follow-up care.
